- Guns and Roses - Iron Maiden - Kiss - Megadeth - David Lee Roth - Helloween * Durante la actuación de Guns and Roses (en concreto la canción "It´s so easy" murieron dos personas debido a las avalanchas...debido a esto el Monsters of Rock del año siguiente no se celebró...aun asi el Monsters of Rock del 88´ presenció la mayor audiencia de la historia del festival, 107.000 personas, solo superado por Rusia en el 91´con 1.6 millones de personas)
